Only because the one they had on the lot was red and had a sunroof. I refuse to own a car with a sunroof and the next STI that I purchase will be WR blue. I didn't take any pictures and didn't bother to so much as sit in it. Mostly out of self preservation. I don't think Mrs. Finn would have been impressed with me coming home in a new car a week before Christmas, and since I'm weak that might have happened. I will say that it is a very good looking car in person. IMO it looks good in pictures and I've never seen why people complain about it being ugly. It looks so much smaller and better than the last gen. The last gen looks puffy to me and this looks angular and purposeful.

I'm sort of glad that they didn't have a blue one without a sunroof on the lot because that might have lead to an uncomfortable conversation when I got home.
"So, is your car all serviced?"
"I think so."
"What do you mean, you think so?"
"I assume they are going to service it before they sell it."
"What do you mean, before they sell it?"
"Surprise, I traded it in."
"..."

Seriously, if I were to get one it would be a blue STI with the short throw shifter, all weather floor mats and the homelink mirror. Those are the only options I would need. The one on the lot was a limited, but the same color as this picture that I stole from the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Which you should read for the lulz. "It has five differentials."

I really do love this new STi. But my favorite color is the darker blue for sure.

I've seen a red one in real life. That red in intense. I love it.

There's a WR Blue WRX near my house. It looks bloated to me, maybe a huge wing would help balance things out

Wait for the hatch version.

Wait for more power. Or a hatch, I'd settle for a hatch. It probably won't happen, but its nice to dream.

I haven't seen them side by side, but the pictures do make the darker blue look good. The one thing I regret about mine is not getting it in WR blue, so if I ever do replace it there is no way I will get a different color.

They had a 2013 in the showroom and a 2015 right outside. The new one looks much better when they are side by side. They had a couple WRX's on the lot and I think they look good even without the wing. They do look better from the front than the back though.

Yeah I've seen it in that color and it is amazing. To be honest, the only bad color for this car is red. It looks so ugly in red.

The red does look good, but the one regret I have about buying mine is getting it in grey instead of WR blue. If I ever replace it I can't make that mistake again.

It will happen. Too many people are asking for it.

I thought the STI looked pretty good in red, but that is the only color I've seen IRL. They had a blue WRX and a black dark grey one. It's tough to judge color on a cloudy winter day so I'll reserve judgement on them all. I thought the grey one was actually black until I checked the dealers inventory online just now. Even the WR blue looked very dark, and since its cloudy here a lot I think the dark blue would end up looking black a lot of the time. It would be interesting to see them again on a sunny day.

But what if you get the WR blue and then... regret not getting the red ?

What if a blue WRX is just a stepping stone on your journey to a red one? You simply cannot afford to make this mistake again - take my word for it. Better safe than sorry.

I like the looks of the STi much more than the WRX, the wing really makes it nice. Black is another amazing color which I've also seen.

I disagree, there is a new gen white STi I've seen around town, and the spoiler on the back is far too big and gaudy for my tastes, i know someone who has a 2008ish STi, its lines are far more pleasing to me (the hatchback version).

No it won't. Subaru recently said they are trying to "grow up" their brand. A hatchback is not very grown up...

There's plenty of old people buying Outbacks. They wouldn't buy an STI just because it's a sedan. They won't buy it because it's pushing $40k with options.

Alright honest question here... What's wrong with a sunroof?

I love having one And use it every single time I drive!

Why is the no sunroof option so desirable amongst enthusiasts? This is big for people buying M3's and other cars like this...everyone wants the slicktop...why is that?

I do agree with the design language being better on older Impreza WRX's. But we're stuck with the new ones. The colors aren't the problem for me. Its the availability. The specific one I want I still have to wait for. I also need to change the hood because holy crap that OEM hood is terrible. wheres the hoop scoop for the turbo?

For hardcore enthusiasts the sunroof adds a lot of weight to the very top of a car. If you are a pro level driver you might actually notice that. I suspect most people like to think they notice the weight but it is mostly just the placebo effect going on. The other thing to consider would be that possibly some tracks don't allow sunroofs at track days.

I personally don't like sunroofs because they add an expensive, complicated hole in the roof that will leak and ruin the upholstery. That and 200" of snow per winter and that is a lot of ice and crap that will render it useless for 6 plus months of the year. Throw in the fact that it will take a couple inches of head room out of the car and it is just something that I will never own.

Yeah, but WR Blue is the cliche Subaru color. It is kind of like red on a Ferrari, it is just how they are meant to be. Sure, a blue Ferrari can look nice but if its your first you will still want a red Ferrari.

I've actually had a lot of compliments on the grey color of my car and I do like it. I just wish I would have gotten it in blue.

I don't like sunroofs because it is a big, expensive, complicated hole in the roof that will leak and ruin the upholstery. Plus they take out a couple inches of head room and that can be enough to bug me if the car has a low enough roof line. Besides that, I live in an area that gets 200+ inches of snow per winter, so for six months of the year it would be frozen shut, iced over and useless.
